I have been involved with The Children’s Village since I was 4 years old. I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of community and compassion as my parents helped Pittsburgh families build bridges and connections with these at-risk children. and teenagers. We didn't just support them from afar; we got to know the children, shared in their lives and celebrated their victories, big and small.

 

Over the years, my family has adopted 3 children and have become very engaged with many of the staff still keeping in touch with them, 12 years later. I have found that the village is more than just a place to visit with kids. It's a place where laughter fills the air, where I hang out and learn about them, and they learn about me and create a long-lasting bond with my “adopted” friends.
